Tagish is a small, rural community in the heart of Yukon's Southern Lakes. The traditional home of the Carcross Tagish First Nation, we are on the watershed of the Yukon River and have almost continuous water access to the Bering Sea. The gold seekers of the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898 travelled to Dawson through the heart of our community .

Surrounded by the coastal mountains, we enjoy a wilderness setting which offers peace, tranquility and a sense of history to all who live here or visit. At the same time, we are only 100 kms. from Whitehorse, Capital of Yukon, and which has all the amenities of a modern, bustling city.

Situated on the Southern Loop, a 170km circuit which links Tagish to 4 other communities in the Southern Lakes, Tagish offers residents and visitors alike the opportunity to view and enjoy our varied bird and wildlife;, to fish for trophy lake trout and northern pike; to hike , ski and skidoo our many trails and to visit places where you can still see and feel our history.

We invite you to peruse our website to learn more about our wonderful community.
